| Among red gems the ruby and the star ruby in the 2nd row, the spinel and the tourmaline in the 3rd row and the garnets in the 4th row are important. Pink or even red diamonds are extremely rare. In general, all other red gemstones are compared to the colour of the ruby. The closer their optimal colour matches that of the ruby, the more precious and sought after they are. |
